fLIBS2023

It’s that time of year again, the “Apex” week of the yachting world – no not NYE or 4th of July in Nantucket- it’s the Fort Lauderdale International Boat show! This week’s claim to fame is the world largest in-water boat show show-casing vessels from every corner of the maritime world. Broker, agents, owners and crew from around the world come to town for this major event where who’s who will be sure to represent their brand and break out their newest Prototypes to hit the market. The show brings a whopping $2 billion in economic impact to our city.

“FLIBS” is a time to host public (or private) showings and meet-ups, seminars, cocktail mixers, yacht parties, crew parties, sea-trails galore. Even the most vetted marine folks will enjoy walking the miles and miles of floating docks and installation tents to admire everyone’s hard work, set eyes on newly emerging companies and products, and undoubtedly run into some familiar faces.

2023 the FLIBS show included the Broward Convention Center, Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall Of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, 17th Street Yacht Basin, Pier 66 Marina, & Pier 66 Superyacht Village. They even have an APP.

I spent some time cruising the show by tender which definitely offered some great views of the vessel by water, and we were able to attend a few of the events, seminars and networking mixers to celebrate the spirit of boating!
